The Cowboy Poets: The Best is Yet to Come

The Best is Yet to Come is the first release for seasoned musicians here is Nashville in a band called The Cowboy Poets. The duo was part of a well known band called Bonepony and this is their first venture away from that project. It has been a couple of years in the making and it has been highly anticipated by the Bonepony fans. I wanted to do something that represented not only the body of amazing music on this album, but also something to represent the two talented musicians behind it. The entire album is about change, and this project was hugely representative of change. I was thinking about that concept, and the idea of transformation came to mind. That thought led me to the age old caterpillar to butterfly scenario. The amazing moment of time, while the caterpillar is in the cocoon is like holding your breath in anticipation. I imagine while he is in there, that he is thinking about how his life is about to change and how the best is yet to come for him. When he emerges, he will be so remarkably different, yet still the same. To me, this was the perfect moment to capture for the album. This is what I drew and presented to Scott and Nick of The Cowboy Poets and they loved it-so it stuck!
